A CV that is finally about you

Reviewing CVs is one of the most common advisory requests we receive. Surprisingly often we see that someone either writes too little about themselves, or writes so much that the essence gets lost among the details. We also often talk about how certain experiences, for example an old student job, no longer matter, while an interesting project, volunteer work or a hobby can reveal far more about a person.

One of our candidates called months later to thank us for the help. With the CV we had reworked together, companies finally started inviting them to interviews, and they found a position within a short time. According to their feedback, it was not their professional background that had changed, but the way they presented it. Often this is exactly what decides whether someone gets the chance to show themselves in person.
